On February 1st 2004, the Sixth Annual Icebike Race in conjunction with Assiniboine Credit Union River Trail will be held at The Forks in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. The mountain bike race will take place on the Red River, The Forks National Historic Site and The Forks.
Woodcock Cycle Works bicycle shop again is the major sponsor. The event has grown from 40 competitors in 1998 to 195 competitors in 2003. Riders from as far away as Duluth Minnesota have participated. This fun event offers something for cyclists of all abilities. The course is comprised of three distance categories, a 3Km "Snowflake", a 10Km "Icicle", and a 20Km "Abominable" (Approximate distances) with male/female categories in each. A twelve and under children's category has been introduced this year.
Festival du Voyageur, The Forks North Portage Partnership, Parks Canada, and Winnipeg Harvest support this event. Spectators and participants are encouraged to bring food donations to drop off in the bins set up on site.

The Race starts at noon at the Junction of the Red and Assiniboine Rivers.
